I meant to say that using the mirror of others is easier and so much more accurate view of ourselves. painful in its accuracy.

I hadn’t thought of it as an efficiency factor, mikaelah, but that’s an excellent point.

It’s incredibly useful to have people around you who can offer constructive feedback on what you can do to better yourself, though I had only focused on how we often avoid doing those constructive things.
