Because I’m sure I’m not the only person to suffer from this compulsion…
Have you ever discovered a new blog you really like, and then found yourself rifling through their archives to find out what they posted on your birthday?

you aren’t the only one.
i like to see if anyone was happier (or sadder) than I was on my birthday.
Good to know.
It’s just one of the things I tend to do, but I have no idea why.
Heh. I do that, too. And today happens to be my birthday.
No. But then my wife has a thing about birthdays, e.g., some crazy notion that they have any significance at all. Perhaps you’ve inherited a similar gene complex.
I like a calendar a lot more if my birthmonth is the best picture. And one year “Happy Birthday” was the wheel of fortune.
And happy birthday Yoko – we have halfbirthdays (mine is 8/1). I’ll superremember a childhood friend R’s for being on my half, but almost always forget another friend’s on 1/31 – only a day apart.
So I think we all have birthday weirdness in some way.
Yoko- hope your birthday was a good one!
Steve- maybe I got half that gene complex. My birthdays don’t usually mean much to me (past the aforementioned compulsion), but other folks’ birthdays can seem more significant.
Ellen- I like the calendar thing. I think I used to do that also. And everyone seems to celebrate my half-birthday (New Year’s)
Thanks for the birthday wishes, Ellen and Howard! Heh—it’s nice to see that you guys recognize half-birthdays. I don’t celebrate them, but I do note when they happen.
