“I can’t believe the news today…”

Following this morning’s co-ordinated bombings in the British capital, Great Britain has begun the manhunt for the perpetrators of the attacks.
This was quite a shock to wake up to this morning. Maybe even more shocking was how many people I came into contact with today who had no idea what had taken place—and even among those who had heard the news, the average level of concern was startlingly low.
Is it possible that foreigners who view Americans as indifferent to the rest of the world are closer to the truth than we’d care to admit? Probably.
As for the attacks, there is no concrete motive or perpetrator yet, just the usual internet claims from groups which may or may not exist (the newest regional field office of al Qaeda which was heretofore unheard of, in this case).
Let’s hope for the best as more information pours in—my prayers go out to the Londoners tonight.
