Thanks…

to all the folks who supported me in this past Sunday’s JDRF walk. I walked in Tyler State Park, starting at 10 on Sunday morning, and was finished about 45 minutes later. There was quite a crowd of participants there for the event, and while I apparently didn’t hit my goal, I did better than I expected to when I set out on my little mission.

One price I may have paid for my swift pace up and down many of the park’s scenic hills is a persistent pain in my right foot. I thought it was just sore at first, but I’m starting to wonder why it isn’t feeling any better yet. Hopefully it’s nothing serious, but I should know more when I talk to the doctor tomorrow morning.

Congrats on the walk…great cause…hope you’re foot is going to be okay. Is it plantar fascitis? I know that can hurt. A friend of mine had it a couple of years ago…ended up limping on both feet. Ugh.

Thanks, Frank! You were part of a great group of folks who made the effort worthwhile. And there were a ton of other walkers out on Sunday as well.

I’m pretty sure the foot issue came from a near slip and fall on a slick spot along one of the walking paths. I averted a muddy demise. My right foot was instrumental in the reacquisition of my balance, which is likely what ended up causing the pain. Looking back, perhaps I should have just settled for the embarrassment of getting my clothes dirty. Oh well.

Doc says it’s probably just a sprain, and to take it easy for a couple days and see where I am on Friday. I guess if there isn’t sufficient improvement, we’d pursue more exotic tests at that point.
