168

Posted by mobile phone:
I just cast my first vote in the new precinct. My new polling station is in the basement of the local Presbyterian church. That’s a first for me.

I can’t imagine this station accommodating some of the numbers we had in my last precinct. But on the plus side, I can now walk to the polls (and post to my blog via phone on the way home).

There were a few new politicians with whom I needed to familiarize myself over the past several weeks, but I’m fairly comfortable with the choices I made. I know this isn’t going to be an especially busy election day, but I’m curious how many others ventured out to vote today.

Were you number 168 at your polling place? If I recall correctly, you did the same thing last year. Yeah, I know, I have a psychotically good memory for certain things.

And yes, I will be heading out to vote after I pick up a package from your employer. Why aren’t they open on Saturday for pickups anyway? :)

I’m not sure what my number was last year, but I’ll have to search the archives to see now. In terms of the Saturday pickup hours, it’s probably because Saturday service is a premium offering.

Don’t bother looking, I just did. Yup, last year’s number was 984 and you mentioned it was your election day tradition. Who knew? And what kind of freak am I for remembering it? Anyway, Happy Election Day or something…

31 here. Yeah, early morning voting.

And I cry over the Saturday (non)pickup too, as it’s a PITA bus ride for me to package fetch.
