Sleeping Angels and loud music

You might ask what sleeping angels have to do with loud music. If you’ve never heard of the Sleeping Angels Fund or their annual Music Fest fundraiser, it’s an understandable question.

S.A.F. logoFrom the Fund’s website:

The Sleeping Angels Fund is a non-profit fund started in memory of Hunter James Martino who passed away from SIDS on September 15, 2001. The SAF is trying to help needy families who have lost their infant children in their time of grief.

Specifically, the fund is intended to help families in the greater Philadelphia area who’ve lost infant children, but can’t afford the expense of a headstone or marker for the child’s burial. The Sleeping Angels Fund operates on donations, either individual donations or from events held to benefit the fund.

One such benefit event is this weekend’s two-night music event, dubbed the Sleeping Angels Fund Music Fest. It will take place this Friday, August 5, and Saturday, August 6 at two different venues, and will feature some of the Delaware Valley’s local music talent, including My Brother’s Keeper, the band of Philly Future founder, Karl Martino, on Friday evening.

If you’re one of the many Philly area music fans who can make it out to one or both shows, please do. The cover’s only $5, and it’s sure to be a good opportunity to spot some of the great local talent. Even if you can’t make the show, consider making a donation directly to the fund.

And now you know how Sleeping Angels and loud music go together.
