Meet the Philly bloggers

Have you ever been to a blogger meetup?
I remember my first meetup. I recall the trepidation, the nervous anticipation of finding out about the real people behind some of my favorite Philly blogs. I remember my preconceptions being shattered almost as soon as I pulled up my chair to the table with a dozen other local bloggers. I don’t know exactly what I expected, but perhaps something closer to an after-party at a Star Trek convention wouldn’t have surprised me too much.
Boy, was I relieved. Not only was nobody wearing those fake Vulcan ears, but the demographically mixed group was composed of some really engaging, intelligent, multi-dimensional people. In the months since, the cast of characters has rotated a little around a core group of consistent attendees, but the interaction is always rewarding.
The only real mystery from month to month is guessing who’s going to show, because most people don’t bother to R.S.V.P. ahead of time (myself included, sometimes). If you’re a Philly blogger, or reader of Philly blogs, and you’d like to demystify the identities of some of Philly’s most intriguing online folks, why not come down and say hello? Maybe grab a beer, some food, and enjoy a sampling of Philadelphia’s legendary blogging community in one cozy locale.
