To be, or not to be — a sovereign country?

There’s just no escaping politics… or as Pericles said “just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you.”

The folks at Google appear to still be learning this lesson, as they tick off one more government in their quest for world cartography (via Slashdot).

You like to think you’re just some apolitical Joe doing your job, and then geopolitical reality rears its ugly head. Which kind of reminds me of the philosophical discussion regarding the culpability of Star Wars’ storm troopers in the movie Clerks…

I’m still second-guessing the use of the phrase “world cartography.”
