Quote of the day

“I’m seventeen and I’m crazy. My uncle says the two always go together. When people ask your age, he said, always say seventeen and insane.” – Ray Bradbury

-just a quote lifted from my Google home page. I always dug Ray Bradbury material.

Bradbury was one of the first ‘adult’ writers I really got into in Jr. High sometime. The Illustrated Man, Dandelion Wine and a few other short stoy collections come to mind off the top of my head.

I think the first thing I read from Bradbury was Fahrenheit 451 (required reading in an English class in junior high or high school), followed by a copy of The Martian Chronicles I got from my sister and bro-in-law.

The last thing I read from Bradbury was Zen in the Art of Writing, which may have been the most useful book on the subject of writing I’ve ever read. That, and I felt like I could really relate to some of Bradbury’s first-hand accounts from his youth.

Aside from that, I had haunting dreams when I was younger from the first time I saw Something Wicked This Way Comes, with Jason Robards and Jonathan Pryce.
