Friday Random Ten XXVII
(spinning, laughing, dancing)

Simplicity rules (except all the quotes)

1. Valley Winter Song – Fountains of Wayne (Welcome Interstate Managers)
“Hey sweet Annie, don’t take it so bad—you know the summer’s comin’ soon…”

2. Radio Song – R.E.M. (Out of Time)
“What are you saying?
What are you playing?
Who are you obeying
day out day in?”

3. Stories I Tell – Toad the Wet Sprocket (Fear)
“And I wasn’t looking for heaven or hell-
-just someone to listen to stories I tell.”

4. Seven Years – Norah Jones (Come Away with Me)
“She’ll sing her song to anyone who comes along.”

5. Bullet Train – Lost Dogs (Scenic Routes)
“There’s a lot of poor souls on the bullet train,
but Lord knows they got more room.”

6. Desperately Wanting – Better than Ezra (Friction, Baby)
“Then they ask what went wrong when you never had it right.”

7. Here is No Why – Smashing Pumpkins (Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness)
“You’ll forever stay desperate and displeased with whoever you are”

8. Closer to Fine – Indigo Girls (Indigo Girls)
“I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind, got my paper and I was free.”

9. Black – Pearl Jam (Ten)
“I know someday you’ll have a beautiful life, I know you’ll be a star in somebody else’s sky, but why … can’t it be mine?”

10. Hang – Matchbox Twenty (Yourself or Someone Like You)
“The trouble, understand, is she got reasons he don’t.
Funny how he couldn’t see at all ‘til she grabbed up her coat.”

(A lot of angst, depression and bittersweetness in today’s spin)

Friday Random Ten

You know what day it is! Time to put your digital music player on shuffle, click play, and list the first ten songs that show up. You must resist the temptation to click past the bad or embarrassing songs.

“Don’t Panic” (Coldplay)…

Friday Random Ten

It’s the day we all wish was just a little bit shorter. Friday. And that means I’m breaking out the player and firing off a round of random (yeah, too much Colbert recently).

Res – How I Do
Curtis Mayfield – Mr. Welfare Man
Dr. Dre …

Well, FoW winter anthem showed up a few weeks early (which I’m always glad to hear), but what I’m really wondering is when one of the Annoying Music Show’s Songs for People is going to pop up—I added that disc several weeks ago. Still waiting…

Friday Random Ten – 12.02.05

Time for Friday Random Ten, where you hit shuffle on your favorite digital music player (for me my Windows MediaPlayer at work) and report on the first ten songs that it spits out. Well I was in beautiful Trenton today,
