The Philadelphia Inquirer today published a piece on the front page of the Currents section about a campaign to influence Washington into real action on the issue of violence in Darfur. It centers on the efforts of a Marine Captain named Brian Steidle:
… “For the last year, I’ve been banging my head against the wall,” Steidle says. “It’s like screaming in a dream, and no sound comes out.” So he decided to approach the public directly. He wants you to lobby for a U.N. force that would protect civilians in Darfur. … (source)
