Thought for the Day
Alex offers a question for which I have no solid answer:
How do you know you aren’t brainwashed?

How do you know you aren’t brainwashed?
I wonder that type of thing all the time. When the whole world seems to be jumping on a bandwagon, I’m usually the hesitant one. (ok, well except where this blogging this is concerned) I have no idea how I’d know if I was brainwashed. I try to go with my instincts and upbringing and hope for the best.
And it’s way to early for that heavy of a question.;)
Brainwashing is the only cure for a dirty mind.
Today – I’m not entirely sure I’d mind it. Or at least a go round with that thingy from Men in Black that creates a “tabula rasa” (one of the vendors wooing my company has pens that seem to visually simulate that effect).
Oh – and Wade – what’s this sh*t about curing a dirty mind? Not a syndrome I find particularly needs a cure…
Au contraire… I think we are all brainwashed and the only relevant question is who did the brainwashing? Can we trust them? Is my brainwashed better-n your brainwasher? There are, I suppose, few who are not brainwashed (or who might have recovered)… but these live the most miserable (and unproductive) lives of all.
“Is my brainwashed better-n your brainwasher?”
So which, in your opinion, would be the Maytag of the brainwashing category?
That is an excellent question, Howard. And tho’ this is very old news by now it deserves an answer: The best brainwasher is the one that makes you strive for the one thing: Truth, Virtue, and Beauty (all being one thing), and all the while makes sense of human nature. Of course you may need a certain lesser kind of brainwasher to set to work on you before you’ll ever go seeking this ultimate best kind of brainwasher.
Back to the wasteland!
