A portrait of the blogger as a young plagiarist
I haven’t had much interest in the whole Ben Domenech flap, but I know there are many bright young conservatives out there in the blogosphere. Couldn’t the Post have gone after one with his (or her) own ideas? (And, no, the advent of dueling partisan hacks doesn’t really constitute a balanced debate—it’s just a headache in stereo.)

The blatant stupidity kills me more than the views (which I also find quite repellant – especially the Corretta Scott King remarks) – surely they could get a young “hip” neocon that could STAND up to muster once the spotlight was on – why risk things with one that wouldn’t. This is not unlike when our fave “family values” team got a gay porn star to “star” as a Bush-friendly reporter at press conferences. Could you not find someone who – say – had Campbell Soup commercial experience instead? What part of “don’t be throwing rocks at someone else’s glass house unless you’re darned sure you’ve got rock-proof glass” do these yahoos not get.
Unfortunately, this level stupidity seems to not follow any party lines or political platforms (it kills me that as big a fan of Clinton as I am that he’ll go down in the books as “President Booty Call”)
I noticed he pretty much burned bridges with everyone who disapproved of plagiarism, regardless of which side of the fence they’re from.
Yep, someone sounds a teency bit bitter over being fired for what most people would consider a valid reason… Ooops, now that I look again, the article I just referenced seems to have mysteriously vanished. Or maybe I made it all up…
Well, as of 630 Sat AM (ie – I twitched enough for the cats to wake me and get me to feed them time), both the original Salon artilce and the resignation one are still up. Maybe traffic affected your ability b/c sure as dirt noone’s online NOW.
