So tired

I’ve been neglecting this space for a couple days, but despite my weariness, I wanted to note that my previous post unwittingly underscores the fact that hell can freeze over from time to time, as two of the top members of PA’s legislature lost their re-election bids in Tuesday’s primary.

Maybe a few more will come November, but I would think if that were to happen they’d have lost at the primary level.

Well, I don’t know the numbers right off, but I was aware that some incumbents won’t be facing challenges until the general election. Not sure how that affects things.

Defense of the castle is usually not that difficult unless you sap your own walls.

Nope, it isn’t. Especially in the Keystone State.

Interestingly, I didn’t realize until very recently that the Clean Sweep folks fielded a candidate in my local race (the 142nd). Not that I could have voted in the primary anyway, but I probably would have supported the incumbent, despite the pay raise issue.

I have to imagine that in many of the state races, the pay raise was just a multiplier by which people judged their reps and senators, in that the raise only really hurt if the overall body of work was found lacking.

Could be wrong, but that’s the way I saw it.
