Have you seen my pen?

waterman fountain pen vert.JPGI once loved a pen. It was a Waterman Hemisphere Stainless Steel Fountain Pen. I’ve been unable to find it for a while now. Well, I’m actually not sure it would function if I could find it, as I was a having a persistent problem with the nib before it went missing, a problem I believe was associated with some inadvertant mishandling on my part.

Anyway, I’ve been looking around recently, at various pen retailers, for a pen like the one I miss so desperately. No luck. In fact, most of the people I talk to at these retailers have no idea what I’m talking about when I mention the characteristics of the pen. Apparently even Amazon.com can’t help me (except to tell me there are none available).

So out of desperation, I’m opening it up to the general public. Has anyone out there seen my pen?

I tried the goldspot one, but had difficulty in actually buying the pen, which is just as well. I’m not sure I’ve given up on finding my old friend just yet…

Actually – all the sites above came from the main Waterman site (like shooting fish in a barrel, not that I shoot or fish) – so even if you put off getting the pen, you should be able to recreate these links from the vendors suggested from their site.

I’m surprised the shopping cart worked but the checkout didn’t. I’d expect that from a $0.99 Bic retailer but not from people selling $50.00 pens. I’d have thought they’d be darned sure they could get your $.

Finally – this was incredibly easy but the next time you are looking for somthing that is>/b> hard to find, M. is like the Agatha Christie of the Internet, you might see if she can ferret it out first.

Moi? Agatha Christie of the internet? What makes you think that, silly girl.

OK, she may have a point. I don’t think I’m that good, but I’ll try if you want me to. But it’s not going to happen tonight.

Thanks for offering Melissa, but through the kindness of the many who’ve already rebuked me for my laziness (and really, had I not been lazy, it would have killed the impetus for this post), I now have a few reliable channels to track down the pen myself, though I’ll try to steer clear of the many that are trying to charge significantly higher prices than the first one cost.
