About the smedley log
My name is Howard. I love to write. I’ve often felt as if I had to write. This website, in its simplest terms, has existed for that reason, though most of what I write will never be seen by another set of human eyes. The thoughts here are merely the ones that got out alive.
I wrote fairly regularly on this site for about four years (dating from late 2003 through late 2007), but I now do most of my online writing at (nonbreakingspace.com). Just about all of the haiku, poetry and short story content on this site also appears there. If you’re into those sorts of things, you can find all my new creative writing content by checking out the new site.
Pretty much all the original content on this site is generated by me (except where noted). That content is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.5 license, which means I retain many, but not all, of the rights to that material. Refer to the license to find out what sort of use of my material is implicitly permitted. Should you have questions about this site or want to use the content here in ways that exceed what’s allowed in that license, please send me a message.
NOTE: I get questions from time to time about how I came to choose the title “the smedley log” for this website. The story of Smedley can be found by clicking here. Whether or not it makes sense is up to whoever’s reading.
Thanks for visiting!
